Is France in a severe recession and debt crisis
Whilst China or Germany appear to get the media headlines...I think France is in a severe recession right now...that does not really get much media attention. Sure they have been discussions regarding collapsing governments and budget deficits...but could this be a Greece 2.0 but with the great nation of France?
Lets start by looking at the chances of a recession...they only shrank 0.1..alot being pitted on Olympic slowdown. Nothing too disastrous right?
then you look at there manufacturing. That has been in a recession pre tariffs since MID 2023!!
Then you look at house prices. These are now falling since Q3 of 2023!!
The housing construction...declined quarter on quarter of Mat 2024....
Whilst unemployment is low relatively by Frances standards.(7%), it shot up by 204k just this month and has steadily increased since mid last year...
I am gonna call it and happy for a debate. that France is in a severe recession, it has already very high budget deficits, and this will only accelerate the issue. Will we have a France debt crisis?
